The first edition of the Nation Forum's Pitch Zone concluded on October 24th with the announcement of the five projects selected to join the very first cohort of the Nation Lab, focus 01: the screen industry.

‍

On October 23, during the first day of the Nation Forum 2026, 12 Afro-descendant entrepreneurs and creatives took on a major challenge: presenting their project in just three minutes in front of a mystery jury in a closed room.

‍

Twelve projects, twelve visions and one shared ambition: to advance the cultural and creative industries through innovative, bold and transformative ideas.

‍

After this day of pitches and deliberations, the five winning projects were unveiled on stage on October 24, at the closing of the Nation Forum.

Five projects, one new adventure!

‍

Congratulations to the five selected projects who will have the opportunity to continue their development within Nation Lab, the micro-incubator of the Nation Hub, powered by the Fondation Dynastie .

‍

Starting next winter, the five winners will join a 12-week intensive support program designed to help them structure their business model, test their ideas, strengthen their strategy and accelerate the development of their projects.

‍

The program includes: support tailored to their needs, meetings with industry professionals, strategic resources, and scholarships of up to $10,000.

‍

A first graduating class that marks the beginning of a great adventure

‍

Beyond competition, the Pitch Zone embodies one of Nation Hub's ambitions: to create concrete opportunities to enable Afro-descendant talents to develop their projects and take their full place in the cultural and creative industries.

‍

We would like to congratulate all 12 finalists for their work, their boldness and their commitment.

‍

To the five winning projects: welcome to the Nation Lab! We look forward to supporting you in this new stage and seeing your ambitions take shape.

‍

And this is just the beginning!

‍

A big thank you to La Sodec, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Black Communities Foundation, Groupe 3737, our partners at Nation Lab, and Futurpreneur, who offered a $3,000 grant.
