There Fondation Dynastie and the Montreal Arts Council are joining forces.

Montreal, August 1, 2024 - The Fondation Dynastie in collaboration with the Montreal Arts Council, proudly present their new micro-program in literature: “Get your pens ready!”

Preceded by two programs in comedy and audiovisual production, this new program aims to develop opportunities and skills for emerging authors and writers.

Becoming an author takes time and a lot of willpower. In order to support the next generation and provide the tools necessary for their success, this partnership is an opportunity to discover the world of publishing from a different perspective.

"Get your pens ready: A creative program "

Designed for five emerging authors, with or without a published book, "À vos plumes!" is a free, paid program for Black individuals aged 18 and over . This unique project will offer a wide range of opportunities to participants. Those selected will have the chance to take intensive training in writing techniques, illustration, publishing, distribution, and more. They will also have the opportunity to read an excerpt of their work in a prominent public venue and visit a bookstore.

With nearly 60 hours of training and mentoring spanning from September 2024 to February 2025, participants will be able to explore multiple themes: Whether in the youth, narrative, theatrical or poetic genres, all types of authors and their projects are welcome to submit their applications.

Although offered in French, the training is also open to English-speaking authors.

Please note that an information session will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 via Zoom, and that the registration period ends on Saturday, August 31, 2024. The announcement of selected candidates will take place between September 13 and 20, 2024 , and the program will launch in October .
