From April 22 to 26, 2025, the Fondation Dynastie has once again brought together the driving forces of Quebec's Black communities at two landmark events that have left a lasting impression: the Sommet Dynastie and the Gala Dynastie . Together, these two gatherings allowed for reflection, celebration, and the promotion of Black cultures here, with boldness, intelligence, and style.

A Summit rooted in the challenges of our time

For its 2nd edition, the Sommet Dynastie The event took place over two days at 8 Queen Street under the theme of creativity and innovation. The program offered a series of panels, conferences, workshops and discussion spaces, which brought together more than 200 participants who came to learn, reflect, create and network together.

‍

As artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and digital platforms redefine the rules of the game, the Summit aimed to provide a space for exploration and reflection on the ongoing transformations in the creative industries. More than just an event, it was an invitation to co-create the ecosystems of tomorrow, to rethink economic models, and to celebrate the richness of Black narratives in all their diversity.

Since its creation in 2022, the Sommet Dynastie It aims to be a space for collective transformation that has constantly evolved to become an essential platform for reflection, action, and networking. It notably made its mark with the publication of the Black Book , a manifesto committed to greater equality in cultural circles.

Building on the success of this second edition, the Fondation Dynastie already planning the next one. Stay tuned for the 3rd edition of the Sommet Dynastie in 2026, which promises to continue this dynamic of innovation and inclusion in the creative and cultural industries.

A grand celebration in the heart of Place des Arts

On April 26, 2025, all eyes were on Place des Arts for the ^9th edition of the Gala Dynastie In a packed Maisonneuve Theatre, the Fondation Dynastie rolled out the black carpet to highlight the excellence and talent of Black people working in the arts, culture and media sectors in Quebec.

Brilliantly hosted with humor and panache by Garihanna Jean-Louis, the evening was filled with moments of laughter, gratitude, pride, and standing ovations. More than 87 finalists competed in various categories ranging from music and literature to performing arts, film, radio, television, and journalism.

‍

Beyond the awards presented, the Gala offered vibrant performances, moving tributes, and powerful speeches on the importance of recognition, visibility, and equity. It served as a reminder that these artists, journalists, producers, and creators don't ask permission to exist: they occupy the space with strength and deserve to be celebrated accordingly.

With over 1,100 people in attendance, meticulous set design, a festive atmosphere, and a level of production worthy of the biggest cultural events, the Gala Dynastie 2025 has confirmed its status as an unmissable event, not only for the Black community, but for all of Quebec .

This review of these events would not be complete without highlighting that the Summit and the Gala are the visible showcases of in-depth work that the Fondation Dynastie Its mission throughout the year is to train, equip, connect, and showcase the talents of Black communities. Through its programs, collaborations, and ongoing commitment, the Foundation is building the conditions for an inclusive and equitable cultural future.

In 2025, more than ever, the Fondation Dynastie affirms its role: to be a driver of change, an open stage, a sounding board for stories, projects and journeys that deserve to be heard and supported.
