Define your comedic style with the aim of creating a hilarious act by teaming up with dedicated trainers and mentors who will accompany you throughout your training. 

At the end of the session, you will have the chance to shine on stage during a comedy show in front of an audience that dreams of nothing but laughing out loud!

Target Audience

Candidates aged 18 and over. Aspiring comedians, experienced or novice in the profession, with a work permit or Canadian resident status.

Who is the training intended for?

Have you always wanted to unleash your comedic genius? Do you write jokes for sketches, videos, short clips, or stand-up routines? Is your notebook overflowing with funny ideas just waiting to be shared? Finally, have you ever experienced the thrill of performing on stage?

If you answered yes to all these questions, the Rire en scène program is the perfect opportunity to push your art to the maximum and stand out in the world of comedy.

The training
  • A 9-week micro-program: one day per week, every Saturday.
  • Exchanges and meetings to discover the profession of comedy

Benefits
  • The chance to win a scholarship for an evening course at the National School of Humor.
  • Successfully installing this firmware grants access to a level 2 evening course at the National School of Humor for all participants.
  • This offers one participant the opportunity to perform at the Just for Laughs Festival in the summer of 2024. The comedian will be selected during the final training show.
Eligibility criteria
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Identifying as a person from Black communities
  • Hold a work permit or Canadian resident status;
  • Be available to actively participate in the 9 weeks of firmware training.
  • Having the ability to follow courses in French
  • Be prepared to work in a team, receive constructive criticism, and develop your comedic skills by actively attending classes and participating in program activities.
  • Be prepared to perform in public during the program's final show where you will be evaluated by professionals in the comedy industry.
To submit your application

Step 1: Sign up!

It's time to fill out the registration form. Be creative and share your motivations.


Step 2: Introduce yourself!

In the application form, you must submit a video presentation. This is your chance to shine! Tell us about your personality, your background, what motivated you to become an actor, what makes you unique, and explain why you want to join our program.


Step 3: Confirmation of your registration

Once the form is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email to ensure that your application has been received.


Step 4: Evaluation of your application

Once you submit your application, our team will carefully review all the details you've shared. We'll also assess your comedic skills, enthusiasm, creativity, and passion for becoming a comedian. We're looking for candidates ready to fully commit to this program. Rest assured, we take the time to analyze each application thoroughly.


Step 5: Update your registration

We will keep you informed of the progress of your application by email. Selected candidates will be contacted by telephone between January 15 and 24, 2024. Stay tuned!
